iPod Nano gets recalled in Japan

iPod Nano has been recalled in Japan.  Japan’s industry ministry is calling the iPod Nano a fire hazard and want Apple to produce reports that include what they are going to do to fix the problem.

Apparently the iPod is overheating and causing fires.  In 2005 the iPod Nano had 27 reported incidents of catching fire while it was charging. 

“The ministry repeatedly asked Apple Japan to take market measures, such as giving warnings or recalling the products, but it has failed to do so,” he said, adding the ministry issued the order late on Wednesday. Apple has sold about 1.6 million units of the first iPod Nano model in Japan.
