Should the U.S. Help Chile in the Aftermath of the Quake?
The U.S. has generously sent aid and millions of dollars to help Haiti, but should we also help with Chile considering we have dire economic stress and problems of our own?
So far the death toll in Chile is nowhere near the Haitian count of over 200,000 civilians, but the destruction there is obvious.
Do we just automatically help anyone who is in need of assistance after a natural disaster?

We can’t bailout every single country that has a problem. At least the buildings in Chile were built to a higher standard, with considerably less loss of life and “limb”. The earthquake in Chile was much worse than the one in Haiti.
