A Russian professor by the name of Evgeny Moskalev has developed a method that allows people to get drunk without having to drink.
Moskalev has created an “alcohol pill” using a method that transforms alcohol into a powder, which can then be packed into potent pills. According to the Times of India, Moskalev has successfully used this method to transform whiskey, cognac, beer, and wine into a pill.
“We have developed a technology that allowed us to turn any liquid solution into powder,” Professor Moskalev said.
He also claims that he has tested his technique on liquor “containing as much as 96% alcohol content.”
The only aspect of this pill that I find interesting is that it diminishes the brutal caloric intake it requires to get drunk. Consuming alcohol regularly makes a huge contribution to body fat.
However, drinking is meant to be part of a social event. People get together and enjoy beer, wine, or cocktails while engaging in conversation. Taking a drinking pill strips the fun out of going out for drinks with friends! It also takes the fun out of enjoying the diversity of flavors beer and wine have to offer.
In the broadcast below, I talk about Huffington Post’s poll on the alcohol pill, and how many people seem to be in favor of it. What are your thoughts? If the alcohol pill was available at your local bar, would you apt for that rather than the standard glass of wine or beer?
