I'm a liberal Democrat and don't agree at all with the White House's approach here. I think it hurts Obama to give into Fox News' taunts. It's not the government's place to point out who is biased and who isn't. Let the audience figure that out. It would be a huge mistake if, for instance, White house officials stop giving interviews to Fox News. Obviously, an important part of our population watches Fox News and believes in it. The worst thing a government can do is to cut lines of communication. Even as somebody who greatly admires-- nay, almost idolizes-- Obama, I see it as a healthy thing to have biased people like those at Fox questioning my government on things I wouldn't question it on. Maybe, just maybe, they could shed some light on some issues I have not considered.

You should check out the documentary "Outfoxed". I believe the whole thing is still on YouTube, and its basically about how Fox News is basically the mass medium for Conservatism. I can't hate on Fox News too much though, if it never existed, The Colbert Report and The Daily Show (and probably The Young Turks as well!) wouldn't have as many hilarious soundbites and ridiculous comments to make fun of.
